Please answer.?

i like this guy at my school. we make alot of eye contact,when we do it seems to last a while. and we seem to have a connnection but it may be just me. we kinda talk but not really. a couple of weeks ago, we volenteered at the same place, and he seemed to be pretty interested in what i had to say. the other day we were sitting in a circle together and there was a hair on the floor, he picked it up and goes, "this is a (insert my name here) -hair" then i go " well that's embaring," then we both laugh.we have alot of mutual friends. some days, im almost sure he likes me, other days im almost sur he doesn't. he seems to like me as a person. but can he be interested in me as more than that? im not sure how to approach this if i want anything to happen. please give me an answer. preferably, people who are experienced in this field.lol
