Can i go blonde when i already have damaged hair?

i want to go blonde but....i have damaged hair from going bleach then brown then bleach then brown ect, i have kept puttin brown dies on to keep up the shade. i was thinking if i dies my hair a shade lighter every other month this might work! what do you think??
