Thousands have been evacuated as the storm has reached a top level threat of Category 5, more powerful than Katrina. There are reports that people are bring turned away from evacuation centres because so many people have fleed. The storm has started battering the coast and people have been warned to expect inland surges and catastrophic damage. This is far from over and it will get worse.
